I love houses!

I love to look at houses, go to open houses, drive around and check out the architecture, the landscaping, the paint colors, and shingle choices and unique front doors. And then I discovered Hooked On Houses and I knew it was a match made in heaven.

Today the wonderful creator of Hooked on Houses is holding a Bloggers Open House and I'm participating. Click here to view everyone else's Open Houses. The house I am showcasing is a craftsman style (close to my favorite style) in a new lifestyle community. Unfortunately the houses do not seem to be selling. Maybe the concept is too ecclectic for my conservative growing city. Regardless here we go.

So I think I would stream-line a little bit of the landscaping and curb appeal but regardless - still a nice house. Let's go inside.

Nice kitchen

I love the look of this staircase and I'm really liking the paint colors they have chosen.

Isn't this just the sweetest little girls room. All it needs is a little pink - everything looks a little better with pink :-)

Okay, and here you have it - my very favorite part of this entire house. Crystal door knobs. I LOVE crystal door knobs. I don't know, maybe it's a little crazy to purchase a house based entirely on the door knobs - but look at them - aren't they pretty?

Well it isn't a Sex and the City Movie dream closet but hey you can't have everything - and still - CRYSTAL DOOR KNOBS!

That's it. What did you think? Like it? Before you pass judgement remember - CRYSTAL DOOR KNOBS - they are fabulous!

TTFN... Thanks for stopping by.

I really like the Craftsman style, too, so I'm thrilled to see a new house built to resemble one of those wonderful old bungalows. I'm CRAZY about the crystal doorknobs. I've never seen them in a new house like this before. Also really like the dark wood floors. And the kitchen. And everything, really. I wish they were building houses like that around here!

Thanks so much for joining the blog party and showing us this! -Julia :-)

I, of course, love this house! I'm going to steal all of the paint colors. The door knobs are as fabulous as you say they are! I loved the two tone siding as well! You should be a realtor Angie...Dan would work with you. He loves to look at houses too!

Very pretty. I really like the double oval mirrors in the bathroom. I would love to do that and get rid of the big huge mirror!

Sure, I'd buy the house just to get the doorknobs! That's a lovely home. AND CRYSTAL DOORKNOBS!

You made me laugh.

I love that house...and of course, the crystal door knobs! I love that dark hardwood floor...I so want one in my Family Room!

Real estate is not moving much here in Michigan, either. Please stop by my open house if you get the chance...when I first saw it (and the price) I could not believe it was still on the market...but then again, I could...the market is so bad here in MI.

Nice to meet you,
Bella :)

I absolutely love that house. It's rare you see such features in new construction. I think the market is just over built at the moment. It will make someone a wonderful home someday soon!

Geez! I wouldn't even mind doing laundry in that laundry room!

This is the a nice home. I don't love the two toned paint on the exterior. However, I could get over that for all the counter space in the laundry room!

Lovely home. I too really enjoy the paint color choices. Thanks for taking us on your tour!

This house has a LOT of character. I love the kitchen.

I love Craftsman Style Homes and they are pretty scarce around here. I would buy anything with glass doorknobs and if it has French doors with glass doorknobs, I would sell my soul.

Love the whole house.

I don't know what the heck a lifestyle community is... but cute house! It's a little plain, but if the right person moved in they could add even more character. Love the CRYSTAL DOOR KNOBS! LOL. That is pretty cool that the builder was thoughtful like that. They know what women like to see, evidently!

It's so great to see people building houses to resemble older architecture.. tho honestly I wish they'd just fix up more OLD houses!

This is really nice tho. The warm golden paint color reminds me much of SW blonde, perhaps a bit deeper.

I agree, the girl's room needs some PINK!

YES, crystal doorknobs are the bomb. I love them in old 30's homes. I was just thinking of getting one for my bathroom.

Thanks for sharing!

OK, we bought an old house about seven months ago and one of the first things I did? Bought crystal doorknobs, LOL. Really! It made a world of difference (the doors were not original to the house so this dressed them up a bit). It was a relatively inexpensive fix...$30/set at Anthropologie and the ones I bought look "antiquey."

The "new/old looking Craftsman" pic reminds me of the houses on Big Love (HBO) -- so similar in style!! It's like they shot it on that street or something.

Thanks for sharing and stop by my tour if you get a chance!

Beautiful home! Crystal door knobs? That's a thought...wonder how much it would cost to replace mine?

Half of my house is original 1930s crystal knobs and the rest of the doors are looking on at them with envy... you remind me I need to replace knobs... UGH!
Thanks for the tour!

I certainly like that better than those horrible huge new McMansion type houses. Great paint colors, too.

Thanks for the tour.

Thanks for showing us this lovely house. I, too, love crystal door knobs. So classy, and old-fashioned!

I had to chuckle at the glass doorknobs--we have a house built in the 40's and it is all glass doorknobs ...however they sometimes fall off!! One time we had a guest and they couldn't get out of the bathroom--it makes for some comedy. But the funniest day was the day my hubby and I were locked in our own room. The handle just wouldn't turn!! So he, thankfully had a jacknife and we pried ourselves out---now we keep a screwdriver in the room just in case!! It would have been funny if we had to crawl out of the window (it is on the second floor). I am just so thankful that this did not happpen when I was home alone!!
